Inspired by composer Conlon Nancarrow, this work uses the antiquated technique of imitation, in which a single musical voice is copied and recombined with itself. An elaborate art project in which Chris Allert gave away over 150 toy pianos by way of found token. Chris had thousands of brass tokens minted and hidden all around Olympia, WA. When you collected enough tokens, you could exchange them at one of three local businesses for a toy piano.
